Mission Statement
To preserve and manage a permanent, self-sustaining fund (the Hamilton Future Fund) as a lasting legacy for current and future generations of Hamiltonians to enjoy economic prosperity, enhanced social fabric, and enhanced community life.
 Waterfront Trail Guiding Principles
1. Investment of the Fund will provide a return that ensures a self-sustaining fund
2. The Allocation Goals of the Fund are to
- enhance the community’s economic prosperity
- include potential for economic development
- support tax competitiveness with neighbouring municipalities
- support downtown redevelopment
- support the development of key economic clusters
- support job creation
- enhance the community’s social fabric
- enhance community life
3. The Allocation Expectations of the Fund are to
- achieve measurable results
- include clear articulation of expected outcomes
- include specific performance criteria
- include means of identifying, measuring and reporting outcomes
4. The Management of the Fund
- is transparent and accountable to stakeholders and the community
- includes clear management frameworks
- includes regular consultation with the community
- includes regular reporting of investment outcomes to stakeholders and the community
- includes regular communication with the community
- includes regular review of the Fund and its direction
Annual Review Process HFF Governors will review the Mission and Guiding Principles annually during a strategic planning meeting in the month of May, and make appropriate recommendations to Council.
