City of Hamilton – Emergency Services

Programs

Emergency Management is involved with several programs to maintain and enhance the response capability of the City and its residents.

The Community Emergency Response Volunteers - CERV Hamilton - comprises individuals who wish to be more prepared to assist in a municipal response or help to mitigate the effects of an emergency within their own neighbourhood.

The Community Awareness & Emergency Response group - Hamilton CAER - is made up of representatives from Hamilton industries who share an interest in bettering their own response efforts and being available to assist others or the City.

Mutual Assistance programs develop agreements among municipalities and regions for the provision of any personnel, service, equipment or material during an emergency should local resources be inadequate for the situation.
