Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee (HMHC)
The Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee (HMHC) is a municipally-appointed Committee of eleven citizens from across the City that advises Council on properties for heritage designation, heritage permits, and other heritage planning matters. Three City Councillors (Bob Bratina, Brian McHattie and Maria Pearson) are also appointed to the Committee, which is chaired by Art French.

District Advisory Committee
There is one District Advisory Committee (DAC) which oversees heritage issues in one of Hamilton's seven Heritage Conservation Districts (HCDs).
The Heritage Permit Review Subcommittee deals with matters in the rest of the City's Heritage Conservation Districts (designated under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act), and all individually designated properties (under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act).
