The City of Hamilton presented the Urban Design and Architecture Awards at a special reception at the Art Gallery on November 8, 2007. The awards recognize and celebrate work that demonstrates excellence in the design of our urban environment as well as the design professionals and companies that create it. A high quality urban environment creates a sense of pride, improves the image of the City now and into the future and is integral to developing a vibrant and sustainable community with a high quality of life.
A jury made up of three design professionals and two City staff selected the following eight projects from 30 submissions as they demonstrated excellence in architecture, heritage restoration, sustainable design, site planning, landscape architecture and urban design.
