Online Building Permits Query

Welcome to Hamilton's New Online Building Permits Query page. You can now access the status of Building Permits online through this new pilot project. The primary purpose of the online Building Permit Query is to provide homeowners and/or contractors a fast and efficient way to check in on the status of their Building Permit application(s) 24 hours a day seven days a week. Homeowners and/or contractors will be able to determine if their application:

• has been received;
• is being reviewed (pending);
• or approved.

A secondary use of this online query is for residents who are wondering if a particular address has a Building Permit or has applied for one. Please note that when searching using the address instead of with the exact Permit number (since this is a pilot project) we cannot ensure that the results from your inquiry will be entirely accurate. In addition, only Permits within a 12 month period will be displayed when you enter the address. We encourage you to contact the Building Services Division's staff by phone at 905-546-2720 or email: building@hamilton.ca; to verify the results or to access assistance regarding this online service. You can contact staff during regular business hours; Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 4:30pm.
