GIS - Planning & Analysis
GIS-Planning and Analysis is the main internal resource for the creation, collection, maintenance, distribution and analysis of GIS land use data for the Planning and Economic Development Department.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a series of spatial land use databases (i.e. residential, industrial, institutional, parks and open space, etc.) for the City;
- Supporting inter regional and inter departments relying on land use inventories, census, assessment data, etc;
- Preparing specialized tabular and GIS mapping products based on census, assessment, CMHC housing starts/building permits, natural heritage inventory data for both internal and public use; and,
- Supporting various corporate projects, such as, the Growth Management Study, Mobile Commuting, Census Consortium, IT Strategy, Regional Information Systems Working Group, etc.);
