Industrial Parks and Airport Development Division
The Industrial Parks and Airport Development (IPAD) Division is committed to ensuring an adequate supply of "shovel ready" industrial lands - a site that already has the necessary designation, zoning, permits, and servicing/utility infrastructure in place. The Division is currently undertaking a comprehensive secondary and infrastructure servicing plans for the Airport Employment Growth District around the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.
IPAD provides a number of services:
Airport Lease/Contract Management:
- Management of City and Tradeport Inc. lease agreement
- Review of Airport Master Plan requirements and contractual obligations
Management of the Nine Business Parks’ Maps, Inventories and Land Use Charts:
- Airport Business Park
- Ancaster Business Park
- Bayfront Industrial Area
- East Hamilton Industrial Area
- Flamborough Business Park
- Mountain Business Park
- North Glanbrook Business Park
- Stoney Creek Business Park
- West Hamilton Innovation District/McMaster Innovation Park
Industrial Business Development Facilitation:
- Identify properties to fit businesses’ needs
- Information and research
- Coordination and facilitation of City services
Industrial Park Planning and Development:

Identify and prioritize capital projects to increase “shovel-ready land”

Ensure that adequate funding and departmental coordination for planning, design and construction of projects including land acquisition, easements and tendering of technical studies and projects

Review of industrial business parks including secondary planning, staging of development, Environmental Assessments, servicing studies, financing and phasing plans, acquisitions/sale and development of City-owned industrial lands
