GIS - Planning & Analysis
GIS-Planning and Analysis is the main internal resource for the creation, collection, maintenance, distribution and analysis of GIS land use data for the Planning and Economic Development Department.
Key Responsibilities include:

The development and maintenance of a series of spatial land use databases, some of which include residential development, employment areas, parks and open space and natural heritage areas for the City;

Support inter regional organizations and inter departments who rely on land use inventories, census demographics, assessment data, etc;

Support various corporate projects, such as the Emme2 update, Integrated Energy Mapping for Ontario Communities (IEMOC), City of Hamilton: Detailed Value Planning Analysis, Light Rail Transit and PAN AM Games;

Produce various statistics and general publications for public consumption and market analysis project, such as the 2006 Ward Profiles (Addendum 11/11/2010);
