What is a Public Information Centre?
A Public Information Centre (PIC) is a meeting that the Zoning By-law Reform Team will hold to inform people about the new Hamilton Zoning By-law & discuss the different parts of the Zoning By-law with the community.
To help the community understand the proposed changes there may be a presentation, information panels and brochures available. Staff will be listening to hear what the community thinks of the ideas and responding to questions. Outside the PIC process, special interest groups will be contacted to discuss proposed Zoning By-law changes.
Why have a Public Information Centre?
It is important for the people of Hamilton and City staff to understand and discuss the proposed changes to the Zoning By-law. PIC's give the community a chance to learn about each part of the new Zoning By-law and what is proposed. The PIC is also an excellent time to have the community comment on proposed changes to the new Zoning By-law as we move forward to complete the new Comprehensive Zoning By-law for the amalgamated City of Hamilton. Staff will attempt to locate these meetings in a central location, so that residents have access to the information.
