Draft Parks and Open Space Development Manual

Park and Open Space Development Manual

Introduction and Background

Landscape Architectural Services invites the Development Community and Consultants to review the Revised Draft of the Park and Open Space Development Manual on this web site.

This manual is designed to outline the process for developing parks and open space in the City of Hamilton and identifying areas of responsibility. The document is intended for the use of both the Development Community and City staff representatives.

The Landscape Architectural Services section of Public Works, Environment & Sustainable Infrastructure presented an overview of the Draft Park and Open Space Development Manual to the Hamilton Halton Home Builders Association Meeting on September 7, 2007. Since this time, we have invited comments on the draft with the original requested deadline of Monday October 29, 2007 for comments. We had requests to extend this comment period until mid-January 2008. At this time, Landscape Architectural Services will be reviewing any comments received, versus the Draft manual document. It is our intention to finalize the document at the end of January with a presentation to the Public Works Committee in the Spring 2008.
