Storm Drainage Title PageStorm Drainage Policy

The City of Hamilton has established the Storm Drainage Policy for use in the planning and design process for land development and development and storm drainage infrastructure within the municipality.  Compliance will ensure that future urban growth and redevelopment will be provided with sustainable, safe, economical, and effective storm drainage systems. Review the Poilcy.
Garner Neighbourhood Master Drainage Plan (MDP)

The purpose of the Garner Neighbourhood MDP is to identify and address drainage related issues associated with existing and proposed land use.  The primary goal of the MDP is to achieve a balance between the protection of existing natural resources and the implementation of the proposed land use.

Water Servicing Upgrades Class EA Pressure District H3

The purpose of this study is to identify a water servicing strategy for the secure and reliable supply of potable water to Pressure District H3.

Congratulations to Amy  Didrikson who received the Co-operative Education Work Term Report Award from the University of Waterloo School of Planning for her report entitled “Municipal Bridges as Statements of Sustainability and Civic Pride”.  Amy was employed as a coop student for the Strategic and Environmental Planning Section of the Public Works Department in Fall of 2004.  Amy’s exposure to Class Environmental Assessment studies for Hamilton bridges inspired her to look at factors to consider when recommending a safe, cost-effective bridge railing design.


Concession Street Bridge King Street Bridge Master Plan EA

Both Concession Street and King Street Bridges were in need of repair. View the panels regarding this issue from the Public Information Centre held on September 16, 2004.
South Mountain Area Transportation Master Plan Review

The City of Hamilton completed a Transportation Master Plan (TMP) for the South Mountain Area (SMA), which extends roughly from Mohawk Road to the southern limits of the City of Hamilton and from Upper Horning Road to Pritchard Road.
