The Study
The City of Hamilton has initiated a Schedule C (Phase 3 & 4) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process to examine improvements to Dartnall Road, from Stone Church Road to Rymal Road. This study builds on the recommendations of the Hamilton Transportation Master Plan (May 2007), which recommended road widening and two-way left turn lane on Dartnall Road between Rymal Road and Stone Church Road. This study is being done in coordination with the Rymal Road (Dartnall Road to the New Trinity Church Corridor) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment; however, two seperate Environmental Study Reports will be filed.
The study will include:
• development of reasonable alternative design concepts;
• evaluation of alternatives based on natural, social, economic and technical criteria;
• selection of a preferred alternative for Dartnall Road;
• completion of an Environmental Study Report to document all activities undertaken.

Public Information Centre (PIC) and Public Consultation
Public Consultation is a mandatory part of the Class EA process. As such, the City intends to hold a PIC in order to consult with, and inform the residents and other interested parties of the proposed improvements to Dartnall Road, from Stone Church Road to Rymal Road.
The City will provide notification in the Hamilton Spectator, Mountain News, and Stoney Creek News for all notices.
