Project Summary
The City of Hamilton initiated the Fessenden Neighborhood Class Environmental Assessment as a continuation of the process required to address the flooding problems that have been identified in the Fessenden Neighborhood. An Environmental Assessment must be completed to identify the preferred solution to address the problem areas in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.

The Process
This project follows phases 1 & 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process in accordance with Schedule B undertakings under the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007).
A key component of the project is consultation with interested stakeholders (public and regulatory agencies).
Public Information Centre (PIC) # 1
A PIC was held on August 18, 2011 at the MacNab Recreation Centre – 145 Magnolia Drive. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with the Project Team and review the study progress to date; this included a presentation of the preliminary recommended alternatives and their evaluation to address flooding concerns in the Fessenden Neighbourhood.
