The City of Hamilton has retained SNC-Lavalin Inc. to undertake a detailed flooding investigation on Jasper Drive and Bland Avenue. The purpose of the project is to investigate the causes of flooding on these streets and to develop flood relief options and recommend solutions. The scope of work includes development of hydraulic modeling and consultation with the property owners on these streets.

A public meeting was held on February 15, 2011 at the Stoney Creek United Church, 1 King St W. Attendees of this initial meeting had the opportunity to meet with the Study Team, review the study scope and discuss issues related to the study. The Study Team was particularly interested in hearing the residents observations regarding the nature of the flooding events in their neighbourhoods to ensure the Study Team develops the most appropriate solutions.
