Friends of the Waterfront Trail

The "Friends of the Waterfront Trail" is a volunteer group interested in helping to maintain the Hamilton Harbour Waterfront Trail, a 3.4 kilometre multi-use trail located along the shoreline between Bayfront Park and Princess Point, and through the Desjardins Canal.

Since it's opening July 1, 2000, it is estimated "during good weather, as many as 10,000 people per week use the trail", which results in litter and debris left along the trail and floating along the shoreline.

The Friends of the Waterfront Trail are seeking individuals interested to participate in shoreline clean-ups and other initiatives, which will be held a few times a year.  The first shoreline clean-up occurred August 10th, 2002 and was a huge success.

If you are interested in becoming involved, or require more information, please contact the Community Liaison Coordinator at (905) 546-2424 ext. 1482.
