On June 26th, 2002 Council approved a new 10 year Parks, Culture & Recreation Master Plan. The Plan contains 14* strategic directions and over 100 specific recommendations providing a comprehensive framework for making decisions about the future delivery of recreation and leisure services.
The Plan was developed over 9 months by PERC & Clem Pelot Consulting and is the result of an extensive consultation process which included input from: Staff, Council and through over 100 interviews with community groups, corporations, and associations. Additional input was received through a public survey, numerous public open houses, and the City’s web site.
The Plan positions the City as a broker or facilitator of services working collaboratively with community partners to maximize existing resources in meeting the needs of Hamilton residents.
