Think it’s easy to drive a City bus?  Then plan to attend the annual Public Works Week bus rodeo, and see participants weave a full size bus around a challenging route.

York Boulevard Cycling Lanes Official Opening
(Dundurn Castle- 610 York Boulevard)
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This two-directional bike lane on York Boulevard is a significant link in the City of Hamilton's cycling network, and will connect downtown Hamilton to the City of Burlington for commuter and recreational cyclists.

Water and Wastewater Division Children's Water Festival
(Parks Canada Discovery Centre- 57 Discovery Drive)
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Hamilton's 1st Children's Water Festival offers Grade 4 students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the importance of water conservation, water awareness, water technology, and science and protection. The ultimate goal is to initiate the process of behavioural change and to empower children to initiate change within their homes, schools and communities.

Keep Hamilton Blooming Kick-Off
(Ferguson Street Station - Downtown Hamilton)

The official kick-off to the Keep Hamilton Blooming program.  Students from Cathy Wever School will be planting the sidewalk beds at Ferguson Station.

Woodward Avenue School Water and Wastewater Plant Tours

Students from Woodward Avenue School will receive a first hand account of what it's like running the City of Hamilton's water and wastewater operations.

Eastgate Square Transit Terminal Official Opening
(Eastgate Square - 75 Centennial Parkway North)

Celebrate an upgraded terminal for Hamilton's transit system.

Adopt-A-Road Beautification Project (James Street North)
(Barton Street to Murray Street)
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Residents and business owners along James Street North between Barton and Murray Streets will be beautifying their neighbourhood by cleaning the street, adding flower pots to storefronts and maintaining tree beds.  Ongoing litter and graffiti maintenance will be completed by these civic volunteers.

BikeSmarts

Learn all about bike and traffic safety and take part in a bike rodeo. The BikeSmarts event will feature several stations for children and parents to visit. A fun BikeSmart passport will be given to each participant, and as they visit and complete each station they will receive a sticker for their passport. A completed passport will get you a prize!

Stories In Stone - A Tour of Hamilton Cemetary (U.S. Veterans Tour)

11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us for a free tour of one of Hamilton’s most historical sites, the Hamilton Cemetery. A professional tour guide will explain the history of the Civil War. Stories of bravery and a glimpse of history, here in Hamilton.
