Neighbourhood Clean Team program

(Formerly the Adopt-a-Road progam)Neighbourhood Clean Team logo

Neighbourhood Champions are enthusiastic volunteers throughout our city who want to help keep Hamilton Clean and Green! Neighbourhood Champions are people just like you who want to help clean up and beautify our neighbourhoods. Become a Neighbourhood Champion!

The Neighbourhood Clean Team Program is intended to help maintain beautification and cleanliness throughout areas of the City of Hamilton. These areas include local neighborhoods, municipal properties, parking lots, alleyways, streets, roads and so much more.

The program involves volunteers who are passionate about maintaining and beautifying a specific area of the city that they care about. Volunteers can come from families, neighbourhoods, schools, businesses, churches, civic groups and service clubs. Put your team together and create a clean team!

What can Neighbourhood Clean Team groups do?

Volunteers can pick up litter and debris, rake leaves, remove graffiti, report hazards, sweep courts and pathways, pull weeds and perform shrub bed maintenance. The Community Liaison Coordinator works closely with the Neighbourhood Clean Team groups to plan and perform these activities.

In recognition for the valuable contribution of our Neighbourhood Clean Teams a sign with the name and/or logo of the group is installed at the location of your adopted area.

How can we become a Neighbhourhood Clean Team?

Get a group of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers together to start your Neighbourhood Clean Team. Your group can be made up of members from community groups, service clubs, neighbours, friends, seniors, local school children and business owners. Everyone can make a difference.

Complete the Neighbourhood Clean Team Application Form or call 905-546-CITY(2489). The application is reviewed and our City staff will work with your group on adopting your area. The City will provide your group with safety training, and the equipment and supplies to conduct your clean team activities.
