Summer Student Hiring Process

Summer Student hiring will take place as follows :

1)    Eligible returning summer students that held a position in 2009 will be given first consideration and placed into vacancies providing
       they meet the criteria listed on the Summer Student Employment Opportunities - 2010 information page.

2)    New hires meeting specific qualifications as dictated by the position will be given consideration, however, due to the anticipated high 
       volume of resumes, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.

3)    Date of submission may be reviewed and taken into consideration where we have an abundance of equally qualified applicants.

Interviews:

Interviews may commence as early as mid February and continue through to early June. Those candidates selected for an interview will be invited to do so via e-mail. This e-mail will contain the following information:

1)    Proposed date and time of interview.

2)    Contact name and telephone number of City staff YOU will be contacting to confirm your date and time of interview.

3)    Response deadline.

4)    If you are out of town/province due to school, a telephone interview may be requested.

Failure to contact City staff by the date indicated in your e-mail will indicate to us that you are NOT interested in the position and you will not be considered further in this employment category.

Do not respond to the e-mail address that will generate your offer of employment, as this mailbox will be set up for outgoing mail only and will not be monitored.
