Historical Interpreter
Working with the public including school age children, seniors and adults. Developing and implementing public programs such as workshops, demonstrations, tours, etc. May wear period costumes while interpreting the role. Garden Demonstrator
As a gardener, plants and maintains period gardens in period costume using period methods and tools; working with the public including school age children, seniors and adults. Developing and implementing public programs such as workshops, demonstrations, tours, etc. As a condition of employment for this position, the successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check, at their own expense, prior to beginning work in this position.
Collections Assistant
Maintains security for irreplaceable building and artifacts, researches information relating to Hamilton history. Handling and recording artifacts in computer-assisted cataloguing system. Photo documents/artifacts utilizing digital camera. Prepares flyers, ads & programme materials. Word-processes correspondence. Selling merchandise and admission tickets.
Gift Shop Clerk
Operating cash register, accounts for U.S. exchange rate, sales tax, processes travelers and other cheques, balances cash and completes bank deposit slips. Answer visitor inquiries in shop as well as on phone. Receives, unpacks, checks, prices and stocks merchandise. Performs routine cleaning such as dusting shelves and vacuuming. As a condition of employment for this position, the successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain a Police Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to beginning work in this position.
