Who can apply:
To be eligible for a Winter Operator (Roads) position, you must meet the following criteria at time of application:
Previous operator experience related to roadway and sidewalk snow plowing/spreading/removal operations and general road maintenance duties such as truck , front end loader, trackless equipment, tractor operation and hand and power tool operations as required.
The ability to comprehend and communicate written and verbal instruction and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The ability to record and process logs, timesheets and inspection data.
Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Highway Traffic Act, Book 7 Regulations, WHMIS legislation and other relevant construction related legislation.
Ability to work shifts and be available for work on a callout/overtime basis.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 14 kgs with an occasional requirement to lift up to 32 kgs.
Must possess a valid Class "D" Driver's Licence with a "Z" Endorsement with an abstract clear of demerit points.
