Who can apply:
To be eligible for a Winter Operator (Roads) position, you must meet the following criteria at time of application:
1. Previous operator experience related to duties listed above normally acquired by a combination of education and relevant work experience.
2. Previous experience, training, and ability to operate equipment used for winter operations, ability to operate tools and equipment in a safe manner.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
4. Ability to comprehend and communicate both written and verbally.
5. Must be able to follow written instructions.
6. Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations including W.H.M.I.S. legislation.
7. Prepared to respond on occasions for emergency overtime duty.
8. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs. with an occasional requirement to lift up to 70 lbs.
9. Must possess a Class "D" Licence with a "Z" endorsement with zero (0) demerit points. Please note: Applicants proceeding to the interview stage will be required to submit a driver’s abstract dated no earlier than 14 days prior to their interview date.
