Art in Public Places - Police Service
Hamilton Police Service Central Station Public Art Project
The City of Hamilton will be seeking artists to make submissions to the Public Art Competition at the Hamilton Police Service Central Station. A competition award of $45,000 will be given for the design fabrication and delivery to the site of a work of art that will be reflective of the competition theme and will have significance to the community.
Location The work is to be generally located in the exterior forecourt near the southwest entrance to the Central Police Station at 155 King William Street. Works may be integrated with existing planters and paving, be attached to the building itself or be a freestanding sculpture or series of sculptures.
Competition A request for proposals was issued in late August for a competition closing on October 15. Please note that this competition has been cancelled. There will be no information session for artists on September 9 as previously advertised. A new request for proposals will be issued later this fall.
