"Zoning By-law Reform staff have completed a series of 7 Public Information Sessions around the City and continue to meet one-on-one with various property owners to discuss site specific issues. We are awaiting the approval of the new Urban Official Plan from the Minster of Municipal Affairs and Housing after which a 30-day appeal period will commence - a date for the Minister's approval is unknown at this time but we are hoping for a decision in the near future. Depending on the what appeals are received, this will determine the time frame for when the new Commercial/Mixed Use Zones will be brought forward to Committee and Council for approval. As of today, the timing of the new zones coming into effect is unknown however, we continue to finalize all our work so that upon all or a portion of the new Urban Official Plan coming into effect, we will be ready to bring forward the implementing zoning as quick as possible. As always, anyone wishing to provided further input on our zoning work is encouraged to contact us.
