The Water Cycle
Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology This hands-on program allows children to learn how water was pumped into Hamilton in 1859. Children will pump water, use piping and filters to ensure the water always stays clean. As part of this program children will get the opportunity to make a “mini environment” at the museum to see the different states of water and how the earth replenishes itself everyday. Children will then experience a tour of the 1859 waterworks and see the 70-ton steam engines that Hamilton used to pump water for the city over 140 years ago. This program also includes a program-related craft to take home, and the use of a party room for one hour that accommodates up to 40 guests, and includes tables, chairs and a small kitchenette.
