Recreation Public Use Studies and Renovation Projects
The City of Hamilton is developing a strategy for managing Hamilton's indoor/outdoor recreation facilities and sports fields and parks.
Public Use Indoor and Outdoor StudiesPublic Use Outdoor Recreation Facility and Sports Field Provision Plan The City is conducting a study of outdoor sports fields and parks, which will inform the development of a master plan for recreation facilities in Hamilton.
Public Use Indoor Recreation Facility Renovation and Replacement Study In September 2008, the City of Hamilton completed an 18 month study of its indoor recreation facilities. The final report and recommendations can be found at this link.
Renovation and Expansion ProjectsThe City of Hamilton has received funding through the Federal Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RinC) program and the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund (ISF). Matching Federal, Provincial and City funds provides a total investment of $51.75 million to be spent on recreation facilities over the next year and a half.
