Did you know Hamilton has:

• 2 Wastewater Treatment Plants 
• 9 Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) tanks
• 1,165 kilometers of sanitary sewers
• 574 kilometers of combined sewers
• 1121 kilometers of storm sewers
• Over 39,800 wet tonnes of solids were extracted from the wastewater from September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012
• 284 million litres of wastewater flows through Woodward plant per day
• Over 2800 kms of sewer lines in Hamilton (sanitary, combined & storm)
• 71 Wastewater Pumping Stations

 • 1 Water Treatment Plant
• 21 pumping stations
• 12,552 hydrants
• The Woodward plant treats 213+ million litres of water a day to drink
• 2014 kms of water lines in Hamilton (equivalent in distance to the drive to Florida)

 • Environmental Laboratory & Operations Control Centre
• 150,000 analytical tests regarding water quality, sewer use and landfill
   leachate quality
• Lab tests water and wastewater seven days a week
