Ground Beef May Contain Metal Shards

HAMILTON, ON - January 12, 2010 –  Hamilton Public Health Services is advising the public not to consume specific packages of lean ground beef purchased at the Metro Grocery Store located at 1070 Stonechurch Rd E, Hamilton. These packages may contain small shards of metal which may be harmful if swallowed.

The affected packages have a best before date of January 12, 2010 and have the number “16” above the “NET Kg” wording on the packaging label.

This advisory pertains only to product sold from the Metro store located at 1070 Stonechurch Rd E and is believed to affect approximately 20 packages.

Anyone who has this product in their possession can it return it to the above Metro location for refund.

No reports of illness or injury have been associated with consumption of this product.
