Project Area
The Downtown Hamilton streets involved in the James/John Two-Way Traffic Conversion project area are:
- James Street south from Main Street East to James Mountain Road (West 5th Mountain Access);
- John Street south from King Street East to the Jolley Cut;
- St. Joseph’s Drive from James Street to John Streets, and;
- Charlton Avenue from John Street to James Street.
Upon completion of the project, James Street will operate permanently as a two-way street from Guise Street to the Mountain Access and John Street will operate permanently as a two-way street from Strachan Street to the Jolley Cut.
Charlton Avenue will operate permanently as a two-way street from James Street through to Wentworth Street and St. Joseph's Dirve will operate permanently as a two-way street from James Street to its terminus east of John Street.
