To start the admission process for any long-term care facility in Ontario you must contact the Hamilton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC). Their phone number and address are listed below.
Cost
Long-term care homes receive funding from the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. The amount paid by residents for their accommodation is called a "co-payment". The cost of long-term care depends on the type of accommodation requested. Visit the MOHLTC for further information.
Wait Time
The length of time a person may wait for admission to Wentworth Lodge varies depending upon the type of accommodation requested (private, semi-private or ward) and the individual's care needs. The CCAC will advise you when an appropriate vacancy arises. You will be expected to make your placement decision within 24 hours of this contact. Please advise CCAC of any changes in health, urgency of placement or if you wish to change your requested type of accommodation.
Please note that Wentworth Lodge is a non-smoking facility. Residents may smoke outside the Lodge, however, we cannot accommodate any requests to smoke inside the building.
If you haven't already toured Wentworth Lodge, it is highly recommended that you contact our Admissions Counsellor below and ask for a guided tour of our home.
