Community Food Security Stakeholders Committee:
This advisory sub-committee of the Board of Health was formed in June 2008 to move Hamilton towards food security.
Community Food Security is defined as "a situation in which all community residents obtain a safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes self-reliance and social justice."

A food charter is a vision of a food system – how it should function and/or how local policies and programs should contribute to the strength of that system. Help create a Food Charter for Hamilton by providing input at a consultation session.
