Prenatal Classes
Becoming pregnant can be an exciting and overwhelming time filled with many questions. Prenatal education can address many of your questions and concerns.
Our prenatal classes are taught by a Public Health Nurse. We offer evening classes at various sites and times, as well as groups during the day.
What will you learn in Prenatal Classes?
- Your Baby’s Growth and Development
- Nutrition for Mom – Build a healthy baby with the food you eat
- Changes During Pregnancy – Helping you to cope; stress management
- Preterm Labour – Babies born to soon are at risk, when to be concerned
- Physical Activity – What is safe to do
- Labour and Delivery and Support – Relaxation and comfort measures; the role of the coach; Variations in labour
- Family Life and Community Supports – Being a new parent; the expectant father
- The Six Weeks After – Breastfeeding; Infant Safety; Caring for your baby; Welcome to parenting
