Public Water Supply

Municipal water supplies (including municipal wells) are maintained and tested by the City of Hamilton Public Works Department. The quarterly drinking water reports are available from Public Works at www.hamilton.ca/water.

Safe Drinking Water Act
The purpose of this Act is to protect human health through the control and regulation of drinking-water systems and drinking-water testing.  Drinking water systems regulated under this Act report adverse water samples to the Medical Officer of Health who investigates to ensure that appropriate action is taken.
