Street Health Clinic

Public health nurses at the Street Health Centre provide health care services on a drop in basis. No appointment or health card needed.

Services include:

  • Needle exchange and harm reduction supplies (eg. alcohol swabs, sterile water, ascorbic acid, filters,  cookers, sharps containers for safe disposal of used needles, safe injecting information).  Sorry, supplies are not available to diabetic clients.
  • Anonymous and nominal  HIV testing
  • Rapid HIV Testing (also known as Point of Care) is available at the Street Health Clinics. This test is done by a finger prick blood sample and your results are ready in just a few minutes.   
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
  • Hepatitis A & B vaccine
  • Tetanus vaccine
  • Pregnancy urine testing and counselling
  • Emergency contraceptive pill (ECP) also known as the Morning After Pill (may be given up to 5 days after unprotected sex)
  • Free condoms
  • Addictions counsellor available Tues evening and Fri afternoon
  • Harm reduction worker; please call for hours
  • Counselling and referrals as appropriate
