Tourism Award Winners: Congratulations! 

March 4, 2011 - Hamilton, Ontario - 21 Tourism Awards were handed out last night at packed ballroom at Carmen’s Banquet Centre. Dundas Kraft Hockeyville took home three Awards for Large-scale Event or Festival, Sport Ambassador and Volunteer of the Year. Royal Botanical Gardens garnered two Awards; one of which was for the key Award of Tourism Business of the Year. For a second year in a row, Incognito Restaurant & Wine Bar, received the Restaurant of the Year Award.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Werner Plessl from the Hamilton Waterfront Trust.

"The Tourism Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognize and celebrate some of our high achievers in this industry. We can’t forget the tangible outcomes that the entire industry provides to our city’s economy; an industry that creates almost 3,000 local jobs and produces an economic impact of

$152.3 million per year," says Mayor Bratina.
