HAMILTON, ON – April 1, 2005 – Hamilton firefighters will be greeting the public this weekend at local McDonald’s Restaurants on Saturday, April 2 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. They will be delivering a simple life-saving message...when you “Change Your Clock…Change Your Smoke Alarm Battery.” In addition to distributing fire safety information on smoke alarm installation and maintenance, the firefighters will be available to provide information to McDonald’s customers on Hamilton Emergency Services’ “Alarmed & Ready” and “VIP Home Inspection” programs.

Smoke alarms provide the earliest possible warning of fire. It is crucial that citizens be given the maximum amount of time to safely exit their homes during fire emergencies.
As an added attraction, our Fire Safety Trailer, an interactive fire safety learning tool for children, will be at the McDonald’s restaurant at 787 Barton Street East (corner of Lottridge Street North) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
