HAMILTON, ON – April 12, 2004 – The City of Hamilton and the VE Day 60th Anniversary Committee invite all residents to a community celebration in honour of our WW II Veterans on Sunday, May 8th, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The celebration, at Hamilton City Hall – 71 Main St. West, marks the 60th Anniversary of the end of the War in Europe.
Come and say thank you to our veterans and enjoy free band concerts. In the lobby, view exhibits of wartime memorabilia courtesy of the Hamilton Military Museum, and enjoy local artist Doug Gilbert’s lively paintings of World War II aircraft.
All are welcome. There is no admission fee and limited light refreshments will be available.
