HAMILTON, ON – August 4, 2005 – Nominations for the City of Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Awards are being accepted until September 30th. These awards recognize and celebrate work that demonstrates excellence in the design of our urban environment as well as the design professionals and companies that create it.
All owners, architects, designers, planners, landscape architects, contractors, engineers, consultants and members of the public are invited to submit their favorite projects.
To be eligible projects must have been completed after January 1, 2001 and before June 30, 2005. They must also be located with the geographic limits of the city of Hamilton. Most types of work including built and landscape projects as well as unbuilt and visionary work are eligible.
A jury made up of three design professionals and two City staff will select projects that demonstrate excellence in architecture, heritage restoration, site planning, landscape architecture and urban design.
Winners will be announced on November 8, 2005, World Town Planning Day. Deadline for submission is September 30, 2005 by 4:00PM
