Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum presents Antique Appraisal Day and An Evening of the Classics

HAMILTON, ON – August 18, 2005 – Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum is hosting an Antique Appraisal Day and an Evening of the Classics with Valerie Tryon, this Sunday, August 21.

Are you wondering how much that old china plate that grandmother gave you is worth? Bring your precious antiques (only those you can easily carry please) from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. Several local appraisers will be on hand to share their expertise. Items welcomed include antique portable objects such as paintings, drawings, etchings, miscellaneous antiques, jewelry, china, glass, photos, and oddball pieces.

Take a number, enjoy light refreshments and while you wait visit the current exhibit “and still I rise…a history of African Canadian Workers in Ontario”, wander the beautiful grounds, or grab a seat and listen in to other appraisals. The cost for appraisals is $5 per item.

At 7:00pm on Sunday, Ancaster’s very own Valerie Tryon will grace the Fieldcote bandshell as she performs the music of Chopin, Liszt and Scarletti. This is presented as part of the “Music at Fieldcote” summer concert series by Ancaster’s Society for the Performing Arts. Admission is free. Donations are welcome. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
