HAMILTON, ON – July 4, 2005 – “There was a table set out under a tree in front of the house, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea at it…..” so wrote Lewis Carroll in 1865. Children of all ages will enjoy a chance to have tea, or lemonade, with the Mad Hatter at Whitehern Historic House & Garden on Friday, July 15 from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
In addition to tea with the Mad Hatter, this is an afternoon to sit back and relax or take part in the day’s activities which will include traditional outdoor games such as croquet and lawn tennis; ice cream making and tasting; and children’s races including the three legged race, the wheel barrel race and the egg and spoon race. Yes, there will be prizes!
Admission to the outdoor activities is free. Visit the historic house for regular admission; adults $5.00, children $3.00, a family for $15.00.
