Upgrades continue on Studholme Road and Beddoe Drive

HAMILTON , ON April 7, 2006 The City of Hamilton, as part of its ongoing commitment to upgrading infrastructure, will be improving municipal services on Studholme Road and Beddoe Drive. Construction is expected to start April 10, 2006 and will take approximately two months to complete. The contract has been awarded to Dufferin Construction.

During construction, vehicular access on Studholme Road and Beddoe Drive will have lane restrictions. To facilitate traffic movement in a safe manner, temporary traffic lights will be installed. Delays are expected. Local and emergency access will be maintained during these closures. Signs will be posted. Safety is our first concern, for both the public and our workers.

The work is being undertaken to protect the long-term value of the City’s transportation and infrastructure assets and help enhance the quality of life for Hamiltonians. Improvements along these roads include: road reconstruction and the creation of a new sidewalk abutting Chedoke Golf Course on Studholme Road; road resurfacing and curb replacement abutting Chedoke Golf Course on Beddoe Drive. Upgrading road infrastructure on city streets helps to improve traffic flow and ensure safe travel in the future.

Every effort will be made to complete the work in an expeditious manner and to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.

We thank you for your co-operation and support during the construction season.
