Secure your waste and recycling materials on windy days
HAMILTON, ON – March 10, 2006 – Hamilton’s Public Works department asks your help to avoid good recycling habits going to waste. Due to the high winds today, extra thought should be given when collecting Blue Boxes and waste containers from the curb.
Waste materials that escape their container should be collected and placed out next week on your scheduled waste collection day.
Please note that we do our best to ensure that your blue boxes and garbage containers are left on your property once they are emptied into the truck.
The City encourages residents to note the following suggestions:
- Ensure all recyclable materials are secured in your blue box.
- Ensure all garbage containers are sealed properly.
- Wait until the following week if your blue box is only partially full
