Hamilton Civic Museums countdown to Doors Open Hamilton 2006

Hamilton , ON – May 3, 2006 - Hamilton Civic Museums will open their doors, to all visitors, as part of the 4th annual Doors Open Hamilton celebration. Dundurn National Historic Site, the Hamilton Military Museum, Whitehern Historic House and Garden, Battlefield House, the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology, and Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum will be welcoming visitors of all ages from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday May 6 and Sunday May 7. The Hamilton Children’s Museum will open Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no admission charge to these museums either day.

Doors Open, an initiative of the Ontario Heritage Trust, is a province wide celebration of community architecture and history. Weekend events take place in over 40 communities from April till October. In Hamilton, Doors Open takes place annually on first weekend in May.

This year, 45 landmarks will open their doors. Opening times may vary, but most sites are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Full site listings are available at www.hamilton.ca/doorsopen or www.doorsopenontario.on.ca
