Hamilton pandemic H1N1 Influenza A Update - Seasonal Flu Clinics for those 65+
HAMILTON, ON - October 9, 2009 – The City of Hamilton’s Public Health Services is continuing to monitor the pandemic H1N1 Influenza virus situation.
Seasonal flu and pH1N1 Influenza A clinics will be rolling out in three phases to Hamilton residents. In the first phase, which begins October 19, Public Health Services is running seasonal flu clinics for people over the age of 65. Free seasonal flu clinics will be offered to everyone who is six months of age and over who lives, works, or attends school in Ontario after the H1N1 vaccine has been rolled.
“We know that people who are 65 years of age and over are more likely to be susceptible to serious complications and hospitalization from seasonal flu infection,” says Dr. Ninh Tran, Hamilton’s Associate Medical Officer of Health. “This is why the province is providing this targeted immunization.”
The clinics are at the following locations:
| October 19 |
Dundas Lions Memorial Community Centre, 1:00-4:00pm Rosedale Arena, 12:00-3:00pm |
| October 22 |
Royal Canadian Legion Waterdown Branch 551, 11:00-2:00 Sackville Senior Centre, 1:00pm- 5:00pm YWCA Seniors Active Living Centre, 9am -1:00am |
