City of Hamilton – Public Works
City not conducting unannounced water sampling
HAMILTON, ON - February 27, 2009 - The City of Hamilton has recently received complaints from homeowners that have been requested to allow individuals into their residence to conduct water sampling and testing. Please be advised that City of Hamilton staff or those contracted to conduct water sampling on behalf of the city will have made prior arrangements and have proper identification available when arriving at your door. Be safe and ask. If you are unsure, have individuals coming to your door wait outside while you call the city at 905-546-CITY (2489) and check.
Tapped in Consulting is working on behalf of the City to complete Ministry of the Environment Regulated water sampling and testing. City representatives will have their company ID in addition to a letter on city letterhead. They will not be selling water purification systems.
The City provides drinking water that exceeds the highest standards in the world relating to quality and safety. We are confident in the quality of Hamilton’s tap water.
