Launched on September 13, 2005, four years after its inception, the hamilton.ca (formerly Connect Hamilton - Create Community) project is a remarkable achievement that uses one of Hamilton’s greatest strengths, a willingness of organizations to work together. Bringing to fruition the hamilton.ca portal project is an important step in the evolution of Hamilton’s on-line connectivity and community collaboration.
The hamilton.ca portal continues to grow and evolve. We are currently looking at ways to incorporate new, interactive technologies, update the technological platform implemented in 2005, and encourage more community members to become involved. You can track the progress of this initiative on the hamilton.ca reno project blog. Outreach to the Hamilton community is a key approach in the renovation of the portal – watch the blog for ways that you can become involved in this process!
A gateway to community resources, hamilton.ca seamlessly integrates relevant information sources and a variety of services. Recently, the Community Portal Advisory Committee adopted the following guiding principles against which it will continue to measure growth, sustainability and success!
