Our commitment has earned Dofasco a place on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for four consecutive years. In 2003, Dofasco is the only Canadian company ranked as a sector leader, the only steel company in the world listed on the Index and one of only 17 Canadian companies to be included on the Index.
Dofasco was also the first company in Canada to sign a voluntary Environmental Management Agreement with the federal and provincial governments in 1997. Dofasco meets with both levels of government annually to review progress. Dofasco has already met or surpassed many of the stated commitments related to energy use, air and water quality and secondary materials.
