The indicators measure specific aspects of each of the fourteen VISION 2020 theme areas. These "signposts" on the trail to VISION 2020 help to tell us if we are headed in the right direction. These signposts do not reflect the full range of factors affecting our quality of life, but instead provide a snapshot of key trends. The indicators work as a set to give an overall view of the social, economic and environmental factors that are interacting in our community. This helps us see whether or not we are working against ourselves by making decisions in one area that have a negative affect in another area.  The indicators were created to provide a simple way to keep people informed of the community's progress and involved in working towards VISION 2020.

Indicators, over time, can identify areas where the community has made progress and alert us to areas that require action. Individual citizens, community organizations, schools, business and government all play a role in imaking progress.  The report contains information on what you can do to affect change in a particular area.
