Lloyd was elected to represent the people of Ancaster on Nov 13, 2006. He currently sits on the Economic Development and Planning Committee and the Public Works Committee. In addition to these two Standing Committees he has been appointed to 12 other community committees in his capacity as a member of Hamilton City Council
A resident of Ancaster for 54 years, Mr. Ferguson has been a passionate supporter of the area through his involvement and commitment with a number of community organizations and industry groups.
For 10 years – 1984 to 1994 – Mr. Ferguson served as a Councillor on the then Ancaster Town Council. He also served as an elected trustee on the Wentworth County Board of Education from 1981 to 1984 and from 1985 to 1991 on the Board of the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority. From 2000 to 2004, he served on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Utilities Corporation. Today, he represents the community by serving on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation.
A graduate of Mohawk College in the Industrial Management Program, as well as the McMaster University CIM Program, Mr. Ferguson recently retired as General Manager of Dufferin Construction after a 32-year career with the Company, the last 12 as General Manager where he managed an annual budget of $350 million and 850 employees. He is Past President of one local, two Provincial and one National Industry Associations.
Mr. Ferguson and his wife Martha have three grown daughters: Jennifer, Leigh and Erin. |
