Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy
We are in a climate emergency. The City of Hamilton is taking urgent steps to cut greenhouse gas emissions and help residents prepare for climate impacts. Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy outlines how the City and community will reach net‑zero carbon emissions by 2050 in an equitable way. Climate Action Progress
The City is committed to reporting and transparency. Find out about our progress against net zero targets and resilience. The Office of Climate Change Initiatives (OCCI) tracks and monitors the implementation of Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy (HCAS) and is developing tools and programs to further its goals and objectives.

The Office of Climate Change Initiatives (OCCI) leads and tracks the implementation of Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy across City departments and the community. Established in 2022, OCCI also delivers its own programs and initiatives.
