Schedules & Detours

As a result of the Art Crawl event, Routes 2 Barton, 3 Cannon, 4 Bayfront, 20 A Line, 99 Waterfront will be on detour due to road closures on James Street, from York Boulevard/Wilson Street to Murray Street.

Detour Details:

Route 2 Barton

• Westbound – From Barton St. at John St.; left on John St., right on Rebecca St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. south of Rebecca St.

Route 3 Cannon

• Westbound – From Cannon St. at John St.; left on John St., right on Rebecca St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. south of Rebecca St.

Route 4 Bayfront

• Eastbound – From MacNab St. at Murray St.; continue north on MacNab St., right on Strachan St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. north of Strachan St. 
• Westbound – From James St. at Strachan St.; left on Strachan St., right on John St., right on Rebecca St., left on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. south of Rebecca St. 

Route 20 A Line

• Northbound – From James St. at Main St.; right on Main St., left on John St., left on Strachan St., right on James St. and resume regular routing on James St. north of Strachan St.

Route 99 Waterfront

Route 2 Barton will experience intermittent traffic stoppages, lane closures, and a full road closure on Barton Street between Birch Avenue and Kinrade Avenue throughout October 2025. These disruptions are due to scheduled road activities. 

Temporary Traffic Stoppages

Short traffic stoppages lasting 1 to 3 minutes will occur during the following dates and times:

• Wednesday, October 8: 7 pm overnight until 4 am
• Thursday, October 9: 7 pm overnight until 4 am
• Friday, October 10: 11 pm overnight until 4 am
• Monday, October 27: 7 pm to 11 pm
• Tuesday, October 28: 7 pm to 11 pm
• Wednesday, October 29: 7 pm to 11 pm
• Friday, October 31: 7 pm overnight until 4 am

Lane Closures

Eastbound lane closures will occur on Barton Street from Stirton Avenue to Kinrade Avenue during:

• Friday, October 10: 9:00 a.m. overnight until 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11
• Friday, October 31: 9:00 a.m. overnight until 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1

During these times, traffic will be shifted to the north side of Barton Street, leaving:

• One lane open for eastbound traffic
• One lane open for westbound traffic
•  

Full Road Closure

A full road closure will be in effect on Barton Street from Birch Avenue to Sherman Avenue:

• Start: Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
• End: Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 4:30 a.m.

Route 2 Barton Detours:

• Westbound: From Barton Street at Sherman Avenue, right on Sherman Avenue, left on Brant Street, left on Birch Avenue, right on Barton Street, and resume regular routing west of Birch Avenue.
• Eastbound: From Barton Street at Birch Avenue, right on Birch Avenue, left on Wilson Street, left on Sherman Avenue, right on Barton Street, and resume regular routing east of Sherman Avenue.

Temporary Stop Locations:

• Birch Avenue at Barton Street (Westbound)
• Sherman Avenue at Barton Street (Eastbound)

Bus Stops Out of Service

The following stops will be out of service during lane closures:

• Friday, October 10 – 9 am  to Saturday, October 11 – 4:30 am & Friday, October 31 – 9 am  to Saturday, November 1 – 4:30 am

Temporary Stop: Wilson at Victoria

Due to construction, Route 3 Cannon will be on detour, Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2 pm until further notice.

Detour Details: 

• EASTBOUND (To Reid and Dunsmure) – From Wilson Street and Victoria Avenue, turning left on Victoria Avenue, turning right on Barton Street, turning right on Birch Avenue, turning left on Wilson Street and resume regular eastbound routing on Wilson Street east of Birch Avenue.

• WESTBOUND (To Downtown) – No detour required.

Route 3 Cannon will experience a temporary detour due to a full road closure on Cannon Street between Birch Avenue and Sanford Avenue for construction activities.

Note: A temporary stop cannot be added at the starting point of the detour due to on-road parking around the northeast corner of Cannon and Birch. Customers are advised to use the existing Route 3 Cannon stop at Cannon at Gibson, located one block east of Birch.

Due to Road2Hope marathon, Route 11 Parkdale (Northbound) will be on detour at Beach Boulevard Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 8 am to 4 pm.

Northbound to Burlington - Travel north on Eastport Drive from Beach Boulevard

• South on Beach Boulevard, picking up passengers on both sides
• Turn right onto Eastport Drive
• Return to regular route north of Beach Boulevard

Route 18 Waterdown Mountaineer will detour as it travels to and from the Flamborough South Centre, August 31 until further notice.

Northbound to Flamborough South Centre: When travelling to Walmart, the bus will continue on Clappison Avenue, turning right on Dundas Street East, left on Leavitt Boulevard, left into Flamborough South Centre, right on the first internal road, proceed around Staples, and stop at stop #1879 at Walmart.

Southbound to Aldershot GO: From stop #1879 at Walmart, the bus will turn left at from the stop, right on the first internal road, left on the next internal road, right on Leavitt Boulevard, right on Dundas Street East, and left on Clappison Avenue where it will continue regular route. 

Transit staff and property manager are working on an access agreement to allow HSR bus travel through the lot.

Due to construction Route 41 Mohawk trips will detour via Ottawa Street only, the detour will be as follows:

Detour Details:

• NORTHBOUND TO INDUSTRIAL DRIVE - From Ottawa Street and Beach Road, Right on Beach Road and continue on Dofasco Avenue, Left on Kenilworth Avenue, Left on Burlington Street and continue on Industrial Drive and resume regular routing on Industrial Drive west of Ottawa Street. 
• SOUTHBOUND TO THE MEADOWLANDS – No detour required.
