Bus News Winter 2026
Starting Sunday, December 28, 2025, we’re making small schedule changes on several routes to make sure you get where you need to go, on time. These changes will make a real difference for communities across Hamilton.

Bus Stop Changes
Effective Sunday, December 28, these bus stop changes will be in effect. Watch for signs posted at the affected stops.
Route 4 Bayfront
Route now travels York St. to James St. N instead of traveling down Murray St. to head Northbound.
Route 8 York
Changes to the stops along York St.
Route 44 Rymal
The 44 Rymal we be using Platform 5 at the Confederation GO station.
Stoney Creek Industrial
This is an a.m. / p.m. service to support the Stoney Creek Industrial area.

- MacNab Street to James Street - Thursday, March 26 at 7am to Monday, March 30 at 2 am
- Bay Street to Summers Lane - Saturday, March 28 10 am to 11 pm
Delays are expected in the downtown area, particularly for buses travelling east on Main St. between Queen St. and James St. when these lane closures are in effect.
- King Street – Northernmost Lane (Summers Lane to Bay Street) - Sunday, March 29 – full-service day
The bus stop on King St. in front of 120 King St. W. will be out of service all day.
Customers should use stops at King & James or King & Caroline.
Additional Notes
Significant delays are expected in the downtown area, particularly for buses travelling west on King St. between James St. and Bay St. when red carpet arrivals begin in the late afternoon on Sunday, March 30.
A special event will take place along Cannon Street and York Boulevard on Sunday, March 22, 2026. As a result, a rolling lane closure will be in effect. The Group Dos Romeiros procession will move along the sidewalks and use one westbound lane between Bay Street and Dundurn Street.
Route 8 York will continue to operate; however, minor delays may occur as the procession moves through the area.

Route 18 Waterdown Mountaineer will detour as it travels to and from the Flamborough South Centre, August 31 until further notice.
Northbound to Flamborough South Centre (travelling to Walmart)
Right on Dundas Street East, left on Leavitt Boulevard, left into Flamborough South Centre, right on the first internal road, proceed around Staples, and stop at stop #1879 at Walmart.
Southbound to Aldershot GO (from stop #1879 at Walmart)
Left at from the stop, right on the first internal road, left on the next internal road, right on Leavitt Boulevard, right on Dundas Street East, left on Clappison Avenue where it will continue regular route.
Transit staff and property manager are working on an access agreement to allow HSR bus travel through the lot.
